The Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, which is protected by IBAMA, has an area of 155 thousand hectares of magnificent landscapes. Here, dunes created a strong coastal winds that can reach 40 meters in height. Between the dunes, the rainwater forms numerous lagoons of crystal clear water. When the water level reaches its peak, the dunes look like white sheets adorned by the crystalline blue and turquoise waters.
Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Bonita: the two are not to be missed if you have the time to spend two days to get to know them. Visiting Lagoa Bonita requires some effort, climbing about 40 meters with the help of ropes. The effort is rewarded by a scenario described by many as the vision of paradise.
Voyeur ride through the Preguiças river: the visual is indescribable, with mangrove and dunes. The tour lasts one day, passing through the villages of Vassouras, Mandacaru and Caburé. In the latter, a strip of sand contains beaches facing the river and the sea.
Fly single-engine: It's approximately a 30-minutes scenic flight which reveals all the natural beauty of the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park.
