Tour of the city center: the largest city in Latin America was founded in 1554, by Jesuits. Over the years, around this small nucleus, the buildings that today form the original center of the city were erected. Nowadays, huge skyscrapers, great avenues, many immigrants, hardworking and friendly people characterize this metropolis. This modern and eclectic city still holds much of its colonial past. In the center of the city, the Igreja de São Francisco de Assis, from the 17th century, the Theatro Municipal, from the 19th century, and the Pátio do Colégio, where the Jesuits settled in 1554, are some examples.
Avenida Paulista: Not far from downtown is Avenida Paulista, once inhabited by coffee barons, wealthy and influential Brazilians. Today, skyscrapers and small gardens have transformed Avenida Paulista into a practical and functional business center. It is this avenue that houses one of the best Brazilian museums, the MASP (Museum of Art of São Paulo).
Parque do Ibirapuera: one of the city's many parks. It stands out for the huge green space in the city, with trees, lakes, museums and exhibition halls. The terracotta warriors of Xi'an (China) and the retrospective of Rodin (France) are examples of exhibits displayed in the Ibirapuera Park.
Restaurants, shopping, cultural life: at lunch or dinner, there are good restaurants. São Paulo is famous for serving the best food in Latin America, a paradise for gourmets. The city is home to numerous museums, concert halls, art galleries, rich restaurants and shops catering to all tastes.
