Located in the northeast region of the country, on the Atlantic coast, with 314,930 square kilometers. It is the largest city in the state of Ceará and the fifth state in Brazil. Maximum temperatures range between 29 and 30°C / 84°F, and minimum between 22 and 24°C/ 71°F.
Between the months of July and December, when it hardly rains. The rainy season begins in January and runs through July. Which it does not mean that the sun doesn’t shine, since normally rain is scarce. Heavy rains occur between March and May.
Theatro José de Alencar: created in 1908, it has stained glass and interior decorations in Art Nouveau style, as well as high structure of beaten iron, made with material brought from Scotland.
Tourist Center: a Victorian-style building, that used to be a prison and now there are craft shops where it used to be cells. It is a good place to buy the well-known lace from Ceará.

Central Market: with 200 years of history, it is a great place to buy local handcrafts and enjoy the delicious fruit ice cream typical of the region.
Praia do Meireles: it is the most beautiful urban beach of the city, with wide sidewalks, coconut trees, tents, many hotels and a charming fair at night.
Praia de Iracema: the perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful sunset. It is located on the well-known Ponte dos Ingleses, built in 1920, where tourists and locals meet at dusk.
Praia do Futuro: a beach with an extensive stretch of sand and crystal-clear waters. Along its boardwalk countless tents offer fresh showers, beach chairs and typical dishes. It is also a great option for those who enjoy the nightlife.
Praia do Cumbuco: known for its magnificent natural scenery, with beautiful lagoons and dunes. It is also known for all the recreation activities that it offers, such as esquibunda and raft trips. This beach is considered as one of the best in the world for windsurfing.
